Made by June of Rising Sun Earthworks, these yarn bowls measure approximately 6 1/2 inches across and are 3 inches high. They will hold a decent sized center pull. ball of yarn. These particular bowls are painted with a fun little sheep and have a yarn slot on the opposite side. Never used a yarn bowl? It's easy, put your yarn in the bowl (if using a center pull cake lay it sideways) and slip the yarn through the slot. The curved slot will keep the yarn in place. If you find the yarn slips out, turning the bowl slightly so the yarn is pulling away from the slot will fix this. No more run away yarn balls! Knit while watching TV, the kids, or especially while knitting in a car, bus or airplane. It is however recommended to not be driving said car, bus, or airplane at the same time. Due to the high heat of firing, sometimes the rim will be slightly warped where the slot is located. This does not effect the bowls functionality. June's stoneware is all handcrafted, either thrown on a wheel or handbuilt. It is fired to 2200 degrees which makes it dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. It is durable and built to last.
