Crafted by Karen of Karatstix, a bobbin like this will help you tackle that pattern that calls for the intarsia color technique you've been yearning to do. You will need one bobbin for each color change (not the main color though) section. 

These are very light -- the weight will come mostly from the yarn wound on it. 

To use, first wrap the yarn onto the post, then pass the working end through the hole, leaving a comfortable length to knit the number stitches you require in that section and when you only have say 4-5 inches remaining, pull a loop away from the bobbin so that you can slip the loop over the bottom of the bobbin until you have enough yarn to knit with again. 

Decorated with colored pencils and finished with satin polyurethane.
